“Even though it’s the last week of being in Costa Rica, there’s still so much to do! My group has been extremely busy working on our final project, a small scale hydroponics system. The goal of the project is to address and solve an environmental issue through the use of a product or implementation of a system. Everyone has been working super hard on their projects and I’m extremely excited to see what they have come up with! Besides working on final projects, we had the chance to experience more of the culture of Costa Rica. A bunch of dancers came and performed some traditional folkloric dances. It was extremely cool because the group was extremely inclusive. There were dancers of all different skill levels and even an older deaf dancer. After they performed, the dancers all gave us skirts and encouraged us to dance as well. There were so many of us that some of the dancers lended their own skirts to us! Finally, to finish off the day, we went into town and ate gelato. It was fun to get off of campus and spend time with all of the people I have met over the past couple of weeks. Overall, it was the perfect day to reminisce on everything that I’ve experienced so far in Costa Rica!”
