Goodbye letter to my class
Last week was my last week of school so I wrote a letter to my class saying goodbye and thank you. This is the version I wrote in French and my translation to English.
Merci,
Ginger
Dear Première C,
Thank you for hosting me in your class. These past three months I’ve learned a lot of French and a lot about French culture and daily life. One of the biggest differences between school here and in the United States is in the classes. At my school I take six classes and each one has a mix of different people whereas here we take the majority of our classes together. This helped me get to know you and it was cool to see the community you have all created. Thank you for being so welcoming and for helping me. COVID made my study abroad different than what I was expecting, but I’m glad I was able to spend the last three months with all of you. I think that studying abroad is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it has also been the most rewarding, and I encourage you to consider it. Whether you come to the United States or go to another country, it’s an incredible experience.
Thank you,
Ginger
