Dr. Giulia Bottero

Giulia Bottero is the Academic Director and an Italian language instructor for CIEE Rome. She came to CIEE after working in international education for nearly ten years as an Italian language faculty member and program coordinator. Giulia studied at the University of Rome La Sapienza, and then at the University of Venice Ca' Foscari, where she earned her Ph.D. in Eastern Languages and an additional M.A. in “Advanced Planning of Teaching Programs for Italian Language and Culture,” with a dissertation on the development of Intercultural Competence through on-site classes. Giulia is a native of Rome and is happy to share her knowledge and love for her city with students experiencing it for the first time.
