CIEE Cancelling Arts + Sciences Program in Seoul for Spring 2020

Last night the U.S. Centers for Disease Control raised its travel advisory for South Korea to “Warning Level 3, Avoid Nonessential Travel—Widespread Community Transmission” due to the increase in the country of confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus) cases. This has resulted in significant changes to travel conditions, and increased uncertainty about whether we will be able to successfully support CIEE’s students for the full semester without academic disruption. As a result, CIEE has made the decision to cancel the Arts + Sciences program in Seoul, South Korea, for spring 2020.
We recognize that this is disappointing for students who were hoping to study abroad in Seoul this spring. We are working with affected students to help them connect with another opportunity that will meet their personal and academic goals this spring.
