What is CIEE Open Campus Block?
CIEE Open Campus Block is a flexible study abroad option where students get to decide the details of their study abroad experience, including courses, program length, and locations.
As a brief overview, students choose between six, 12, or 18-week blocks and can decide on a location for each of those six-week blocks. This means students can travel to up to three different locations for 18 weeks, two locations for 12 weeks, or one location for six weeks. The options are virtually endless with this program!
How Does CIEE Open Campus Work
We break down our CIEE Open Campus Block programs into three different options: Semester Blocks, Quarter Blocks, and Summer Blocks. Take note of the program details here to determine which option makes the most sense for your schedule and interests.
Build your own study abroad experience for an entire semester with CIEE Open Campus Semester Blocks! With more than 16 locations across the world, you can choose up to three destinations over the span of 18 weeks (an entire semester). The locations include:
CIEE Open Campus Block also covers just about every subject you can think of, so students like YOU can match your study abroad courses to your degree or subject area of interest. This multifaceted program will help you become a seasoned world traveler and learn a lot about different cultures and perspectives.
If you attend an institution with quarter terms, CIEE Open Campus Quarter Block program is the best option to align your credits and course materials during your study abroad trip.
We offer various quarter programs that last up to 12 weeks, and you can earn up to 21 credits, depending on the program you choose.
