Linda Liu

Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships

Biography

  • Linda Liu joined CIEE as VP, Strategic Initiatives & Partnerships in 2022.  In this role, Linda leads critical initiatives and programs across the organization to expand and diversify access to opportunities for international education and exchange experiences that advance the organization’s mission.

    Prior to joining CIEE, Linda held various leadership positions at the College Board including as VP of International where she led the organization’s work to connect international students with higher education opportunities globally through the SAT and Advanced Placement programs.  Under Linda’s leadership, the organization launched key initiatives like the India Global Higher Education Alliance, forged key partnerships with Khan Academy, Code.org, and Project Lead the Way, and initiated access & equity efforts to support refugee learners and international students from low-income backgrounds.

    Linda spent the early part of her career as a management consulting, including at Deloitte consulting, where she advised some of the world’s largest companies across the pharmaceutical, banking, professional services and insurance industries.

    Having been the first in her family to go to college and study abroad, Linda understands the power that access to college and global education exchanges has on student’s futures and intercultural understanding.  After a long career working to expand access for students into higher education, she is excited to be working to ensure their success through college and into a global future.

    Linda holds an MBA from the Wharton school of Management at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Economics and East Asian Studies from the University of Chicago.  Linda speaks both Mandarin and Cantonese and, having studied abroad for a year in Japan, dabbles in Japanese.  Linda lives in NJ with her husband, two daughters, and a cute hound/lab who has no qualms about pacing outside her home office for attention and treats.
