Welcome to the CIEE IFDS Online Enrollment System.

In an effort to make the IFDS enrollment process easy for participants, CIEE has developed an online application and pre-departure preparation process.

IFDS Application Instructions
All seminar application materials will now be submitted electronically. This process is simple and user-friendly, with CIEE staff support should you need help.

Qualified applications will be accepted in the order in which completed and submitted applications are received. We encourage you to apply early as enrollment in each seminar is limited. Applicants will be notified of acceptance via email. Please note that once you have been accepted there are additional items that must be submitted in paper form, such as signed agreements and/or visa documents.

Eligibility
IFDS participants should be faculty and/or administrators at two- or four-year institutions of higher education. In order to facilitate an interdisciplinary exploration of seminar themes, applicants from all academic concentrations are encouraged to apply. Participants do not need to be experts on the seminar topic or region. Applications from education professionals at other levels or types of institutions are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Application Deadlines

January 15, 2008 - Ping Fellowship Application Deadline
February 15, 2008 - IFDS 2008 Application Deadline

Process

Step 1 | Read all information, policies, and procedures.
Please carefully read these instructions and all associated forms that follow in their entirety, and consult the CIEE website IFDS Components sections for up-to-date information on CIEE's policies and procedures.

Step 2 | Create or log-on to your My CIEE account to start the process.
If you are a returning participant, or even just requested a catalog, you already have an account. To logon, simply enter the email address and password that you used previously. The system can email your password to you if necessary. Please click here and you will be directed to the My CIEE login/register page.

If you filled out a 2007 application, your personal details tab will copy for any 2008 application. If you would like your academic information copied, please contact us at ifds@ciee.org or call 1.800.40.STUDY.

Step 3 | Complete and submit all electronic application items.
There are multiple sections to the online application. Each section is identified by a named tab at the top of the page (e.g., Program Info & Personal Details, Personal Statement, Academic Info, etc.) Just click on the tab to move to that section.

There will be questions relating to items on a curriculum vitae or personal statement. These answers may be cut and pasted from a word processing document into the appropriate text box.

Finally, there is a $50 Application Fee. This fee can be securely paid electronically with a Visa or MasterCard, or by mailing a personal or university check to: CIEE, IFDS [include seminar country], 300 Fore Street, Portland, ME 04101. The application fee is non-refundable [except in the case of denied applications or seminar cancellation] and is not applied to the seminar fee.

Please make sure all required application items are submitted by the application deadline.

Step 4 | Monitor regularly your My CIEE Application Checklist
Once you begin an application online, you will have a checklist accessed through your My CIEE account that will apprise you of items to be submitted, seminar instructions, pre-departure information, and program updates. This information will always be available to you online at your convenience whenever and wherever you are.

Email
If your email system has a spam filter, please add CIEE to your email “Safe Senders List” or “Safe Recipients List” to insure that you receive all future email communication regarding your seminar participation. Email is CIEE’s primary method of communication.
